General Requirements At WSU

Students applying at the institution must meet both the Department of Higher Education and Training minimum requirements and the specific qualification requirements of the university.

For Diploma Qualifications

National Senior Certificate with at least 30% in the language of learning and teaching
Achievement rating of 3(40-49%) or better in four recognized 20-credit subjects, excluding life orientation, as certified by Umalusi, the Quality Assurance Council.

For Higher Certification Qualifications

National Senior Certificate with at least 30% in the language of learning and teaching
Additional combination or recognized NSC subjects and levels of achievement

For Bachelor’s Degree

National Senior Certificate with at least 30% in the language of learning and teaching
An achievement rating of 4(50-59%) or better for 4 recognized 20-credit subject excluding life orientation
Additional combination or recognized NSC subject and levels of achievement

For International Students

Applicants with international school leaving results are considered in terms of the ”Higher Education South Africa(HESA) guideline documents
