The Cape Peninsula University of Technology is currently accepting applications for undergraduate and postgraduate applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Prospective students must visit the official website of CPUT at https://www.cput.ac.za/ to complete the online application form to apply. The online application form will be available on the university’s official website from May to September 2025.

Online Application Date For University of Peninsula 2026-2027

The application portal will be open from May to September 2025. However, select programmes have extended deadlines until 13 January 2025. Some programmes will only be available to returning CPUT students from 7 January 2025 to 10 January 2025, while applications for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Postgraduate Studies will remain open until 14 March 2025.

University of Peninsula 2026-2027 Application Fee

Prospective students applying online do not need to pay an application fee. However, for manual applications, there is a fee of R100, and late applications will incur a fee of R150.

University of Peninsula Admission Requirements 2026-2027

Applicants must generally meet specific academic criteria, typically including a Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification.

Cambridge System Requirements:

For students following the Cambridge system, the following standards apply:

  • A minimum of five different subjects passed at both IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with at least two subjects at the HIGCSE level.
  • A pass in the language of instruction at the University (either English or Afrikaans).

Required pass grades:

  • IGCSE: A, B, or C
  • HIGCSE: 1, 2, or 3

Other senior school qualifications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

International students must qualify for a Matriculation Exemption to enrol in degree programs at South African universities.
  • Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Applications
A SAQA certificate is mandatory for all first-year undergraduate programs, including Higher Certificates and Diplomas.

Required Documents For University of Peninsula Online Application 2026-2027

Certified copies of the following documents are required to complete the online application for the 2026-2027 academic year at the University of Peninsula;

South African Applicants:

  • A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
  • A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
  • Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.

International Applicants

  • Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
  • Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.

  • School-Leaving Certificate (with English translation if not in English).
  • Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation.
  • Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
  • Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation.
  • Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation.
  • English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator.
  • International Nursing Applicants: Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA, proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), and a valid study permit.
