Application Requirement for SMU

A non-refundable application fee of R300
A certified copy of your ID or birth certificate
A certified copy of your final Grade 11 results or National Senior Certificate (NSC)
Official academic records from previous universities attended
Proof of payment for application
A diploma or degree certificate
A comprehensive academic record
A certificate of registration with the relevant professions council (if applicable)
A motivational letter and CV (for Public Health and MPharm applicants)
An SAQA evaluation certificate for students with non-South African qualifications

You are allowed to apply for two study choices. If you wish to apply for both under and postgraduate programmes, you should apply separately and provide the required documentation for each. However, you only pay one application fee for both.

You should pay the non-refundable application fee of R300.00. When making a payment, use your ID or Passport number as a reference.
No manual posted or over-the-counter applications will be accepted.

Application Process to SMU 2026-2027

To Apply to SMU, you can complete an online application form and submit the required documents. You can also submit your application by post or in person;

Provide a valid email address and internet access
Complete the application form
Pay the non-refundable application fee
Upload certified copies of your ID or passport
Upload certified Grade 11 or 12 results
Upload your academic record if you have attended other universities.
