For the 2026-2027 academic year, first-year undergraduate students who finished Grade 12 in 2025 (or earlier) and have been fully accepted can register online or off-campus between January 21 and February 2026. Returning undergraduate students and postgraduate students, including Master’s and Doctoral candidates, can complete their registration with online support from January 13 to February 28, 2026.

Registration at CPUT is simple and easy, with most of the process done online through the university’s student portal. CPUT Registration Date 2026-2027

Provisional and newly accepted students can register for their courses and programs starting January 13, 2026. Below is a detailed list of registration dates for the 2026-2027 academic year at CPUT:

First-Year Undergraduate Students:

  • Online and off-campus registration: January to February 2026.
  • Students who completed Grade 12 in 2025 (or earlier) and have final acceptance can start registering from January 21, 2026.

Returning Undergraduate Students (including Advanced Diplomas and Postgraduate Diplomas):

  • Online and off-campus registration with assistance: January 13 to January 31, 2026.

Postgraduate Students:

  • Returning Master’s and Doctoral students (including new Course-Based Master’s students):
Online and off-campus registration with assistance: January 13 to February 28, 2026.
  • New Full Research Master’s and Doctoral students:
Online and off-campus registration with assistance: January 13 to May 30, 2026.

Important Notes:

  • Complete your registration within 48 hours of receiving the automated SMS to secure your spot.
  • Registrations officially open on January 21, 2026. Be sure to register promptly to avoid losing your place.

Required Documents For CPUT Registration 2026-2027

The following documents are required to complete the 2026-2027 registration;

For South African Applicants:

  • A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
  • A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, submit your Grade 11 marks.
  • Certified copies of your original Academic Record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates, diplomas, or degrees obtained from any previous higher education institution.

For International Applicants:

  • Permanent Residency Applicants: Submit a certified copy of your passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
  • Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Submit a certified copy of your temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
  • Passport: A certified copy of your passport.
  • School-Leaving Certificate: If your certificate is not in English, please provide an English translation.

Specific Requirements for Certain Countries:

  • Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Submit Liste des Admis au Bac along with an English translation.
  • Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Provide your Sixth-year Bulletin, Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
  • Angolan Applicants: Submit Portuguese results with an English translation.
  • Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: Provide French results with an English translation.

English Translations: These must be stamped by a sworn translator.

For International Nursing Applicants:

  • Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA.
  • Proof of temporary registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) for two years.
  • Valid study permit.

CPUT Online Registration Process 2026-2027

Follow the step-by-step guide below to register online at CPUT 2026-2027;

  • Go to the Students tab on the CPUT website and click “Student Online Services (SOS)”, or visit www.cput.ac.za/sos directly.
  • Click “Login to SOS”.
  • Under “Registered Users”, select ‘Student’, then enter your student number and PIN, and click “Login”.
  • On the first page of the ITS iEnabler Online Registration, click the blue question mark next to any item for more info.
  • To make a payment, select “E-Payments” on the left. Choose a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) and follow the steps to pay.
  • To confirm payment, go back to “Summarized Statement of Account”.
  • To update your details, select “Student Administration” > “Personal Information Update”, make changes, and click “Save”.
  • For academic registration, select “Academic Registration” > “Rules & Regulations”, read through them, and click “I Accept”.
  • Select “Submit Registration”, confirm the qualification details are correct, and complete the required fields.
  • Click “Save and Continue”, “Save – Continue later”, or “Restart Process”.
  • Under “Possible Subject Selection”, select your subjects by ticking the box next to each one, then click “Continue”.
  • If you are happy with your subject selection, click “Accept Registration” to complete your registration. If you need to make changes, use the process trail at the top of the page.
