The Cape Peninsula University of Technology is happy to announce to the entire public the release of the 2026-2027 academic year application form. The online application form is available on the university’s official website from May 2025 to September 2025. However, some programmes have extended deadlines until 13 January 2025. Returning CPUT students can apply for certain programmes from 7 to 10 January 2025, while applications for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees will remain open until 14 March 2025.
Prospective students must apply online by completing the application form with the required information, uploading supporting documents and submitting before the closing date. Moreover, applicants must ensure that they meet the admission requirements of the university and the programs they wish to study. It is a requirement to meet the admission requirements as admission is dependent on meeting the admission requirements and space availability.

Online Application Date At CPUT For 2026-2027
The application portal will be open from May to September 2025. However, please note the following important dates for CPUT’s online application portal:
- Some programmes have extended their application deadline to 13 January 2025.
- Certain programmes are available exclusively to return CPUT students from 7 January 2025 to 10 January 2025.
- The application deadline for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Postgraduate Studies will remain open until 14 March 2025.
Prospective students are urged to submit their application before the closing date as late applications may not be considered at Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Required Documents To Apply Online At CPUT 2026-2027
The following documents are required to apply online at CPUT for the 2026-2027 academic year;
For South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, submit your Grade 11 marks.
- Certified copies of your original Academic Record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates, diplomas, or degrees obtained from any previous higher education institution.
For International Applicants:
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Submit a certified copy of your passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Submit a certified copy of your temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
- Passport: A certified copy of your passport.
- School-Leaving Certificate: If your certificate is not in English, please provide an English translation.
Specific Requirements for Certain Countries:
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Submit Liste des Admis au Bac along with an English translation.
- Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Provide your Sixth-year Bulletin, Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
- Angolan Applicants: Submit Portuguese results with an English translation.
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: Provide French results with an English translation.
English Translations: These must be stamped by a sworn translator.
For International Nursing Applicants:
- Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA.
- Proof of temporary registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) for two years.
- Valid study permit.
CPUT Online Application Procedure 2026-2027
Follow the steps below to apply online;
- Visit the CPUT official website
Visit https://www.cput.ac.za/
- Choose Your Programme and Check Requirements
Browse the list of available programmes.
- Prepare and Upload Your Documents
Gather all required documents, including any outstanding ones. Applicants under 18 must submit a Minor Application Declaration form.
- Complete the online
Download and complete the online application form with the required information
- Upload Documents
Upload certified copies of the required supporting documents
- Apply
Submit your completed application to apply.

Track CPUT Online Application Status 2026-2027
Follow the steps below to check the status of your online application at CPUT;
- Visit the official website of Cape Peninsula University of Technology at https://www.cput.ac.za/
- On the home page, click on “Study at CPUT”
- You will be redirected to a page, provide your ID / Passport / Asylum number (as on your application form)/ your Student Number and your full First Name.
- Click on “GET MY APPLICATION STATUS”
- Your application status will be displayed.
CPUT Application Status Meaning
The status of your application may appear as follows:
- “Acknowledgement of Application”
Your application has been received. Please note that CPUT does not send outcome notifications via post or email.
- “Online Incomplete”
Your application is incomplete and will not be processed. Please contact the Application and Registration Centre (ARC) via CPUT Enquiries for assistance.
- “Application Being Processed”
Your application has been forwarded to the relevant faculty for evaluation.
- “Alternative Selection Outcome”
You have been referred to the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP). For more details, please contact the ARC or Call Centre at 021 959 6767.
- “Provisionally Accepted”
You will be fully accepted based on your 2025 NSC results. Please track updates between 16–22 January 2026. Accepted applicants must register within 48 hours of notification, or they will lose their space.
- “Waitlisted – Space Availability”
You are on a waiting list due to limited space. You may be accepted if space becomes available before year-end, after NSC results are released in January 2026, or after registration in February 2026. Accepted applicants must register within 48 hours of notification.
