The Cape Peninsula University of Technology has Extended application timelines for programmes with available spaces (November – 13 January. However, A few programmes have extended their application deadline until 13 January, specifically available to returning CPUT students from 07 January to 10 January. These are for students who took a gap in their studies and did not apply during the original application period but wish to continue, or for those wishing to complete their phasing out programmes.
Late applications for 2026 will be accepted only for identified programmes with available spaces in the following categories: applicants who exhausted 1 or 2 of their 3 initial choices, applicants who did not apply during the normal application period, students transferring from other universities, CPUT students who took a gap in their studies, and phasing out programmes (where applicable). Regrettably, no 4th choice will be considered during this late application period, following the Dean’s Discretionary process.

CPUT Late Application Date 2026-2027
The online application window will open from 7-10 January to accept late applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Late applications will be available only for identified programmes with available spaces. Prospective students must ensure that they meet the admission requirements before applying. Applications must be completed online on the official website of the university before the closing date.

Late Application Fee 2026-2027 At CPUT
There are no fees payable for the online application. However, an amount of R150 is required to complete late applications at CPUT for the 2026-2027 academic year. Proof of payment must be kept for reference.
Documents Required For CPUT Late Applications 2026-2027
Certified copies of the following documents are required to complete the online application process for the 2026 academic year;
South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
- Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.
International Applicants
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
Passport. - School-Leaving Certificate (with English translation if not in English).
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation.
- Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
- Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation.
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation.
- English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator.
- International Nursing Applicants: Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA, and proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), plus a valid study permit.
- Additional Documents: As listed under the “Additional Admission Requirements” section for your program.
NB: Ensure that all uploaded documents are less than 2 MB in size, and in JPEG, PDF, TIFF or GIF format.
