The Cape Peninsula University of Technology is open for individuals who desire to study Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) offered by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in South Africa for the 2026-2027 academic year. The online application portal is also open to Prospective students with qualifications and experience in the Education field, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, the Advanced Certificate in Education, and Honours, Master’s and doctoral degrees to apply.

Applications will be open from May to September 2025, but some programmes have extended deadlines until 13 January 2025. Returning CPUT students can apply for certain programmes from 7 to 10 January 2025, while applications for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees will remain open until 14 March 2025.

PGCE prospective students for the 2026-2027 academic year must ensure that they meet the admission requirements for the program and the qualification they want to pursue before applying as admission is based on meeting the admission requirements and space availability. The online application form is available on the university’s official website for downloading and completion by all qualified individuals. Online Application Date For CPUT PGCE Online Application 2026-2027

The general application period for 2025 at CPUT officially opens from May 2025 to September 2025. However, there are a few exceptions:

  • Programmes with extended deadlines remain open until 13 January 2025.
  • Returning CPUT students can apply between 7-10 January 2025.

Prospective students planning to enrol for the 2026-2027 academic year must visit the official CPUT website to complete the online application form. Please note that late applications for the 2025 academic year may not be accepted.

Required Documents To Apply Online For CPUT PGCE 2026-2027

The following documents are required to apply online for CPUT PGCE programs for the 2026-2027 academic year;

For South African Applicants:

  • A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
  • A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, submit your Grade 11 marks.
  • Certified copies of your original Academic Record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates, diplomas, or degrees obtained from any previous higher education institution.

For International Applicants:

  • Permanent Residency Applicants: Submit a certified copy of your passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
  • Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Submit a certified copy of your temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
  • Passport: A certified copy of your passport.
  • School-Leaving Certificate: If your certificate is not in English, please provide an English translation.

Specific Requirements for Certain Countries:

  • Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Submit Liste des Admis au Bac along with an English translation.
  • Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Provide your Sixth-year Bulletin, Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
  • Angolan Applicants: Submit Portuguese results with an English translation.
  • Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: Provide French results with an English translation.

English Translations: These must be stamped by a sworn translator.

For International Nursing Applicants:

  • Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA.
  • Proof of temporary registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) for two years.
  • Valid study permit.
