CPUT NSFAS Allowances 2026-2027
CPUT NSFAS Allowances 2026-2027
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) offers allowances to students who are funded by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to help cover their educational expenses. NSFAS, a public entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), provides financial assistance to qualifying students intending to study at public universities or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges. The scheme aims to make higher education and training accessible to students who would otherwise be unable to afford it.
NSFAS bursaries cover registration fees, tuition, and allowances for books, travel, meals, and accommodation. These loans must be repaid once the student is employed and earning above R30,000 annually or R2,500 monthly. To qualify for NSFAS funding, students must be South African citizens or permanent residents, have a combined household income of R350,000 or less per year, and be enrolled at a public university or TVET college.
Students of CPUT can apply for NSFAS funding online on the official website of NSFAS during the application period. The online application form must be completed with the required information and supporting documents to apply before the closing date.
