CPUT Admission Application Requirements For 2026-2027

The CPUT admission requirements differ depending on the program you’re applying for. Here’s a simple list of the main requirements:

General Admission Requirements:

• You need to have passed at least five different subjects at the IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with at least two subjects at the HIGCSE level.
• You must have a pass in the language of instruction at CPUT (either English or Afrikaans).
• The required pass grades are:
• IGCSE: A, B, or C
• HIGCSE: 1, 2, or 3

Other senior school qualifications will be considered based on merit.

Documents Required for CPUT Online Applications:

South African Applicants:

• A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document (ID) or Birth Certificate.
• A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you’re still in Grade 12, you can submit your Grade 11 marks.
• Certified copies of your academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or any other certificates, diplomas, or degrees earned from other higher education institutions.

International Applicants:

• You need your passport and proof of Permanent Residency or a South African ID.
• Provide your temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
• A copy of your passport.
• If your certificate is not in English, provide an English translation.

Specific Country Requirements:

• Congo-Brazzaville: Liste des Admis au Bac with English translation.
• Democratic Republic of Congo: Provide a Sixth-year Bulletin or Diplom D’État, plus transcripts or embassy confirmation of results.
• Angola: Portuguese results with English translation.
• Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, Burundi: Provide French results with an English translation.
• Translations: All translations must be stamped by a sworn translator.

 Nursing Applicants:

You’ll need SAQA approval for your nursing qualifications, proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), and a valid study permit.
