CPUT 2026-2027 Application Dates
The application period for undergraduate programs typically opens in May and runs through September each year, though some programs may close as early as July. For research postgraduate programs, applications are generally accepted until March of the following year.
However, select programs have an extended application deadline of 13 January 2026. Additionally, certain programs exclusively available to returning CPUT students will have a specific application window from 7 January 2026, to 10 January 2026. Be sure to check the deadlines for your chosen program and submit your application on time.
Application Fee to Apply at CPUT 2026-2027
The following amount is required to complete your 2026-2027 application;
- Online Applications: No application fee is required.
- Manual Applications: A non-refundable fee of R100 is required.
- Late Applications: A fee of R150 applies for late manual applications.
Admission Requirements for CPUT 2026-2027
Applicants must meet the academic qualifications specific to their chosen program. General requirements include:
Academic Qualifications
- A Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- For applicants following the Cambridge system:
- A minimum of five subjects passed at IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with at least two subjects at HIGCSE.
- A pass in the university’s language of instruction (English or Afrikaans).
Required grades:
- IGCSE: A, B, or C.
- HIGCSE: 1, 2, or 3.
Other senior school qualifications will be assessed on merit.
International Applicants
- Undergraduate Applications: Must meet the Matriculation Exemption requirements to enrol in South African university degree programs.
- Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Applications: A SAQA certificate is required for all first-year undergraduate programs, including Higher Certificates and Diplomas.

- Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- Senior Certificate or equivalent (Grade 11 results if in Grade 12).
