As the online application portal has been closed for the 2026-2027 academic year, prospective students are advised to stay updated on the status of their application. Prospective students can track the status of the application a few weeks after the application portal has been closed for review and evaluation. All applications are loaded onto the CPUT system. Once loaded onto the system, an sms will be sent to applicants acknowledging that the institution has received your application then you can track the status of your application.
Prospective students can track the status of their applications through the CPUT tracking system. Applicants can use the system to check updates on their application status, including whether it has been accepted, provisionally accepted, declined, or is still in progress. Additionally, they can view details about their selected campus and course.
Prospective students can begin tracking their application status a few weeks after the university’s online application portal closes. Accepted applicants will also receive an SMS notification confirming their admission to the institution. CPUT Application Status Outcome And Their Meaning
The status of your application may read as the following;
Your application was received. CPUT does not send outcomes via post or email.
Your application is incomplete and won’t be processed. Contact the Application and Registration Centre (ARC) via CPUT Enquiries.
Your application has been sent to the relevant faculty for evaluation.
You have been referred to the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP). For details, contact the ARC or Call Centre at 021 959 6767.
You will be fully accepted based on your 2025 NSC results. Track updates from 16–22 January 2026. Accepted applicants must register within 48 hours of notification or lose their space.
You are on a waiting list due to limited space. You may be accepted if space opens before year-end, after NSC results are released in January 2026, or after registration in February 2026. Accepted applicants must register within 48 hours of notification.
