CPUT Online Application Date ( 2026-2027)
The application portal for the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) will be open from May to September 2026. However, certain programs have extended their application closing dates to January 2026. Again certain programs will only be available to continuing CPUT students in January 2026. Applications for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Postgraduate Studies will be open until March 2026.
CPUT (2026-2027) Online Application Requirements
Prospective students must meet certain academic qualifications before they can apply to Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The following includes the list of requirements as well as the documents needed for the online application;
- A minimum of five subjects passed at the IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with at least two subjects at the HIGCSE level.
- A pass in the language of instruction at CPUT (English or Afrikaans).
- Required grades: IGCSE – A, B, or C; HIGCSE – 1, 2, or 3.
- Other senior school qualifications will be considered individually
- International applicants must obtain a Matriculation Exemption to be eligible for degree programs at South African universities.
- For all first-year undergraduate programs, including Higher Certificates and Diplomas, a SAQA certificate is required

Documents Required For CPUT Online Application
South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you’re currently in Grade 12, please submit your Grade 11 marks.
- Certified copies of your original academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of any other certificates, diplomas, or degrees you’ve obtained from previous higher education institutions.
Foreign Applicants:
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of permanent residency or South African ID
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa and Passport
- School-Leaving Certificate: Original certificate (with English translation if not in English)
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation
- The Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin or Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
- Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation
- English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator
