Can I Delete My Facebook Account And Start A New One?

If you want to delete your Facebook account and start fresh, you will need to delete it, not just deactivate it. Deactivating does not erase your friends or settings, it just pauses your account, letting you reactivate it later if you change your mind. To start over, you must fully delete your account.

Deleting or deactivating your main account also affects any linked profiles. When you deactivate, you can reactivate anytime, but people can not see your timeline or search for you, though some info, like sent messages, may remain visible. You also lose access to Meta Quest products and data. If you delete your account, you can not get it back. Facebook delays deletion for a few days in case you change your mind, and logging back in during this time cancels the request.

Some info, like message history, may still be accessible to friends, and certain data may stay in Facebook’s database without personal identifiers. Deleting your account also removes Meta Quest info, including app purchases, achievements, and store credits, and you can not return apps.

What Happens When I Delete My Facebook Account?

Once you delete your account, you won’t be able to reactivate it, and everything you have added, including your profile, photos, posts, and videos, will be permanently deleted with no way to recover them. You will also lose access to Facebook Messenger and any other apps you have signed up for using Facebook Login, like Spotify or Pinterest, which may require you to contact those apps for account recovery.

Some information, such as messages you sent, may still be visible to your friends, as copies are stored in their inboxes. Additionally, if you use Facebook to log in to Meta Quest, deleting your Facebook account will remove your Meta Quest information, including app purchases, achievements, and store credits, and you won’t be able to return any apps.
