Apply To CPUT 2026-2027

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is excited to announce that its online application portal for the 2026 academic year is officially open for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. If you are planning to study at CPUT, you can apply now by visiting the official website and completing the online application form. Make sure you meet the admission requirements and have all the necessary documents ready before you begin the process.

Applications will be open from May to September 2025, but some programmes have extended deadlines until 13 January 2025. Returning CPUT students can apply for certain programmes from 7 to 10 January 2025, while applications for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees will remain open until 14 March 2025. To apply, visit https://www.cput.ac.za/, download and complete the form, upload your supporting documents, and submit it online. Don’t forget to make the payment if an application fee applies.

CPUT Online Application Date 2026-2027

The general 2025 application period has closed, except for programmes with extended deadlines until 13 January 2025, applications for returning CPUT students between 7-10 January 2025, therefore, prospective students must visit the official website to complete the online application form to apply for the 2026-2027 academic year as late applications may not be accepted for the academic year.

Admission Requirements To Apply To CPUT 2026-2027

Applicants must meet specific academic requirements, typically holding a Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification.

Cambridge System Requirements:

Students following the Cambridge system must pass at least five different subjects at both IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with a minimum of two subjects at HIGCSE. A pass in the university’s language of instruction (English or Afrikaans) is also required.

Required Pass Grades:

  • IGCSE: Grades A, B, or C
  • HIGCSE: Grades 1, 2, or 3
  • Other senior school qualifications will be assessed individually.

International Applicants:

  • Undergraduate Programs: International students must obtain a Matriculation Exemption to enrol in South African degree programs.
  • Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Programs: A SAQA certificate is required for all first-year undergraduate programs, including Higher Certificates and Diplomas.

Gather all required documents, including any outstanding ones. Applicants under 18 must submit a Minor Application Declaration form.

Download and complete the online application form with the required information

Upload certified copies of the required supporting documents

Documents To Apply Online To CPUT 2026-2027

The following documents are required to apply online for the 2026-2027 academic year;

For South African Applicants:

  • A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
  • A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, submit your Grade 11 marks.
  • Certified copies of your original Academic Record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates, diplomas, or degrees obtained from any previous higher education institution.

For International Applicants:

  • Permanent Residency Applicants: Submit a certified copy of your passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
  • Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Submit a certified copy of your temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
  • Passport: A certified copy of your passport.
  • School-Leaving Certificate: If your certificate is not in English, please provide an English translation.

Specific Requirements for Certain Countries:

  • Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Submit Liste des Admis au Bac along with an English translation.
  • Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Provide your Sixth-year Bulletin, Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
  • Angolan Applicants: Submit Portuguese results with an English translation.
  • Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: Provide French results with an English translation.

English Translations: These must be stamped by a sworn translator.

For International Nursing Applicants:

  • Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA.
  • Proof of temporary registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) for two years.
  • Valid study permit.
