This opportunity is open for both postgraduate and undergraduate programs, high school graduates, continuing students and transfer students from other universities. The online application form can be found on the official website of the university from May To September 2026.

CPUT (2026-2027)  Online Application Date 

The application portal for the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) will be open from May to September 2025. However, some programs have extended their application deadlines until January 2026. In addition, some programs will only be available to continuing  CPUT students in January 2026.

Applications for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Postgraduate Studies will remain open until March 2025.  Late submissions may not be accepted so prospective students are encouraged to apply on time.

CPUT Admission Requirements for the 2026-2027 Academic Year 

To apply to CPUT, potential students must meet some academic qualifications, typically involving a Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification. For those following the Cambridge system, the requirements are as follows:

• At least five subjects passed at the IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with at least two subjects at the HIGCSE level.
• A pass in the language of instruction at CPUT (English or Afrikaans).
• Required grades: IGCSE – A, B, or C; HIGCSE – 1, 2, or 3.
• Other senior school qualifications will be considered individually
• International applicants must obtain a Matriculation Exemption to qualify for degree programs at South African universities.
• For all first-year undergraduate programs, including Higher Certificates and Diplomas, a SAQA certificate is required.

Documents Needed for CPUT(2026-2027) Online Applications 

To complete your online application for the 2026 academic year at CPUT, please ensure you have certified copies of the following documents:

South African Applicants:

• A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
• A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you’re currently in Grade 12, please submit your Grade 11 marks.
• Certified copies of your original academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of any other certificates, diplomas, or degrees you’ve obtained from previous higher education institutions.

Foreign Applicants: 

• Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of permanent residency or South African ID
• Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa and Passport
• School-Leaving Certificate: Original certificate (with English translation if not in English)
• Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation
• The Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin or Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results
• Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation
• Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation
• English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator
