Apply CPUT Late Application 2026-2027

CPUT has opened applications for the 2026-2027 academic year and prospective students can visit the university website to start their application. Late applications for 2026 will be accepted only for identified programmes with available spaces. Eligible applicants include those who used fewer than three choices, missed the normal application period, are transferring from other universities, returning CPUT students, or applying for phasing-out programmes. No fourth-choice applications will be considered.

The 2026 application period has closed, except for select programmes with extended deadlines until 13 January and specific programmes available only to returning CPUT students, open from 7 to 10 January. These extensions apply only to programmes with remaining spaces.

Prospective students must submit their applications online as online applications are free of charge. Manual application submission will not be considered. Prospective students must download and complete the online application form with the required information to apply before the application closing date.

The online application window for late applications to the 2026-2027 academic year will be open from 7 to 10 January. Late applications will only be accepted for specific programmes with available spaces. Prospective students must meet the admission requirements and submit their applications online via the university’s official website before the deadline.

Required Late Application Fee 2026-2027 At CPUT

There are no fees payable for the online application. However, an amount of R150 is required to complete late applications at CPUT for the 2026-2027 academic year. Proof of payment must be kept for reference.

Required Documents For CPUT Late Applications 2026-2027

Certified copies of the following documents are required to complete the online application process for the 2026 academic year;

South African Applicants:

  • A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
  • A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
  • Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.

International Applicants

  • Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
  • Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
    Passport.
  • School-Leaving Certificate (with English translation if not in English).
  • Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation.
  • Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
  • Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation.
  • Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation.
  • English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator.
  • International Nursing Applicants: Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA, and proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), plus a valid study permit.
  • Additional Documents: These are listed under the “Additional Admission Requirements” section for your program.

NB: Ensure that all uploaded documents are less than 2 MB in size, and in JPEG, PDF, TIFF or GIF format.

How To Apply For CPUT Late Application 2026-2027

Follow the step-by-step guide below to apply at CPUT for the 2026-2027 academic year;

  • Choose Your Programme and Check Requirements

Browse the list of available programmes.

  • Prepare and Upload Your Documents

Gather all required documents, including any outstanding ones. Applicants under 18 must submit a Minor Application Declaration form.

  • Make payment of the application fee

Submit your application fee of R150. Upload proof of payment to complete your application.

  • Complete the online

Download and complete the online application form with the required information

  • Upload Documents

Upload certified copies of the required supporting documents

  • Apply

Submit your completed application to apply.

NB: Selections will be made within the respective Faculties, and the results will be communicated to the applicant via SMS. Only completed applications with the required supporting documents will be considered. Applications must follow the outlined process to be valid. Manual submissions will not be accepted unless specified for certain non-degree programmes. Postal or courier submissions are not allowed. Please note that the residence department does not accept late applications due to limited space.
