Cape Peninsula University Of Technology is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Potential students can visit the university’s website to start their application process. Late applications for 2026 will only be accepted for some programs that still have available spaces.
Qualified applicants include those who used less than three choices, missed the regular application period, transferred from other universities, returned CPUT students, or applied for programs being phased out. Please note that no applications for a fourth choice will be accepted.
The general application period for 2026 has ended, but there are extensions for specific programs. Some programs will accept applications until January, while some programs for continuing CPUT students will be open from January. These extended deadlines only apply to programs with available spaces.
All applications must be submitted online, as this process is free of charge. Manual applications will not be considered. To apply, potential students must download and complete the online application form, ensuring that they include all the required information before the closing date. CPUT Late Application
Late applications for 2025 will be open only for specific programmes with available spaces. These are the applicants who can apply during the late application period:
- Applicants who used only 1 or 2 of their 3 choices when they applied on time.
- Applicants who did not apply during the regular application period (maximum of 3 choices).
- Unfortunately, a 4th choice will not be considered during the late application process, even with the Dean’s Discretionary process.
- Transfer students from other universities.
- CPUT students who took a break from their studies.
- Students applying for phasing-out programmes (if applicable).
Documents Needed for CPUT Late Applications 2026-2027
To complete your online application for the 2026 academic year at CPUT, please ensure you have certified copies of the following documents:
South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you’re currently in Grade 12, please submit your Grade 11 marks.
- Certified copies of your original academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of any other certificates, diplomas, or degrees you’ve obtained from previous higher education institutions.
Foreign Applicants:
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of permanent residency or South African ID
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa and Passport
- School-Leaving Certificate: Original certificate (with English translation if not in English)
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation
- The Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin or Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results
- Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation
- English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator

These are the simple steps used in applying to CPUT for the 2026-2027 academic year :
- Select Your Programme and Check Requirements: Look through the list of available programmes and check the entry requirements for your chosen course.
- Prepare and Upload Your Documents: Gather all the necessary documents, including any outstanding ones. You must also submit a Minor Application Declaration form if you’re under 18.
- Pay the Application Fee
Pay the application fee of R150 and upload proof of payment to finish this step. - Complete the Online Application
Download and fill out the online application form with the required details. - Upload Your Documents
Upload certified copies of all the required supporting documents. - Submit Your Application
Submit your completed application.
