CPUT Registration SOS
The online registration portal of Cape Peninsula University of Technology has been opened to allow provisional and returning students to register for their selected courses and modules for the 2026-2027 academic year. Prospective students must use the registration SOS system to register for the 20256 academic year The SOS registration system is available on the official website of the university to offer students the guidance and support they need to register for their academic journey without unnecessary stress.
The online registration portal is opened a few weeks after the application portal has been closed. First-year undergraduate students who completed Grade 12 in 2025 (or earlier) and received final acceptance can register online or off-campus from 21 January to February 2026. Returning undergraduate and postgraduate students, including Master’s and Doctoral candidates, may register with online assistance from 13 January to 28 February 2026.

CPUT Online Registration Date 2026-2027
Provisionally accepted and fresh students can register for their chosen courses and programmes from 13 January 2026. Below is a comprehensive list of registration dates for the 2026-2027 academic year at CPUT;
First-Year Undergraduate Intake Students:
- Off-campus and online registration: January 2026 – February 2026. Students who completed their final Grade 12 exams in 2025 (or earlier) and have received final acceptance can begin registering from 21 January 2026.
Returning Students (Undergraduate Studies, including Advanced Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas):
- Online and off-campus academic registration with online assistance: 13 January 2026 – 31 January 2026
Postgraduate Studies:
Returning Postgraduate Students (Masters and Doctoral studies) and new students for Course-Based Master qualifications:
Online and off-campus academic registration with online assistance: 13 January – 28 February 2026
New students for Full Research Studies (Masters and Doctoral):
- Online and off-campus academic registration with online assistance: 13 January – 30 May 2026
Note: Please remember to complete your registration within 48 hours of receiving the automated SMS. Failure to do so may result in your space being allocated to another student. Also, note that registrations can only begin from 21 January 2025 onwards.
Documents Required To Register At CPUT 2026-2027
The following documents are required to complete the online registration process for the 2026-2027 academic year;
South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
- Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.
International Applicants
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
Passport. - School-Leaving Certificate (with English translation if not in English).
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation.
- Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
- Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation.
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation.
- English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator.
- International Nursing Applicants: Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA, and proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), plus a valid study permit.
- Additional Documents: As listed under the “Additional Admission Requirements” section for your program.

CPUT SOS Registration Process 2026-2027
Follow the step-by-step guide below to register online at Cape Peninsula using the Students online Service;
- Go to the Students tab on the CPUT website and click “Student Online Services (SOS)”, or visit www.cput.ac.za/sos directly.
- Click “Login to SOS”.
- Under “Registered Users”, select ‘Student’, enter your student number and PIN, and click “Login”.
- On the first page of the ITS iEnabler Online Registration, click the blue question mark next to any item for more info.
- To make a payment, select “E-Payments” on the left. Choose a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) and follow the payment steps.
- To confirm payment, go back to “Summarized Statement of Account”.
- To update your details, select “Student Administration” > “Personal Information Update”, make changes, and click “Save”.
- For academic registration, select “Academic Registration” > “Rules & Regulations”, read through them, and click “I Accept”.
- Select “Submit Registration”, confirm the qualification details are correct, and complete the required fields.
- Click “Save and Continue”, “Save – Continue later”, or “Restart Process”.
- Under “Possible Subject Selection”, select your subjects by ticking the box next to each one, then click “Continue”.
- If you are happy with your subject selection, click “Accept Registration” to complete your registration. If you need to make changes, use the process trail at the top of the page.
