The Cape Peninsula University of Technology 2026 online application portal is currently open for undergraduate and postgraduate applications. Therefore if you are looking forward to studying at the university for the 2026 academic year, you can apply NOW! The online application application form has been released online on the official website of the university. You can apply if online you meet the admission requirements and have in possession all the necessary documents required to complete the application.
Prospective students can download and complete the online application form to apply from May to September 2025.
Some programmes have extended deadlines until 13 January 2025. For returning CPUT students, certain programmes will be available from 7 to 10 January 2025. Meanwhile, applications for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Postgraduate Studies will remain open until 14 March 2025. Applicants are urged to apply on time before the closing date as late applications may not be considered for the 2026 academic year.
Applicants must visit the CPUT official website at https://www.cput.ac.za/, download and complete the application form with the required information, upload supporting documents, make payment of the application fee(if applicable) and submit online to apply for a space for the academic year.

CPUT 2026 Online Application Date
Prospective students must apply online via the official CPUT website during the application period. General applications for the 2026 academic year are open from May to September 2025, with select programmes accepting submissions until 13 January 2025. Postgraduate applications for research degrees remain open until 14 March 2025.
Completed applications along with supporting documents must be submitted before the closing date as late applications will not be considered for the 2026 academic year.
2026 CPUT Application Fee
For CPUT 2026 applications, online submissions are free, while a R100 fee applies to manual applications. Late applications will incur an R150 fee. Applicants are encouraged to submit online applications to avoid fees and ensure their forms are received within the specified application period.
Admission Requirements For CPUT 2026 Application
Applicants must meet specific academic requirements, typically holding a Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
Cambridge System Requirements:
Students following the Cambridge system must pass at least five different subjects at both IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with a minimum of two subjects at HIGCSE. A pass in the university’s language of instruction (English or Afrikaans) is also required.
Required Pass Grades:
- IGCSE: Grades A, B, or C
- HIGCSE: Grades 1, 2, or 3
- Other senior school qualifications will be assessed individually.
International Applicants:
- Undergraduate Programs: International students must obtain a Matriculation Exemption to enrol in South African degree programs.
- Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Programs: A SAQA certificate is required for all first-year undergraduate programs, including Higher Certificates and Diplomas.
Documents To Apply Online At CPUT 2026
Certified copies of the following documents are required to complete the online application for the 2026 academic year at CPUT;
South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
- Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.
International Applicants
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
Passport. - School-Leaving Certificate (with English translation if not in English).
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation.
- Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
- Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation.
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation.
- English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator.
- International Nursing Applicants: Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA, proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), and a valid study permit.
