Online Application Date For CPUT Nursing 2026
The application portal will be open from May to September 2025. However, select programmes have extended deadlines until 13 January 2025. Minimum Admission Requirements For CPUT Nursing 2026
All nursing program applicants must have achieved a minimum of a D pass (for matriculation before 2008) or Level 4 (for matriculation from 2008) aggregate, by the Western Cape Provincial Administration bursary requirements. This applies to applicants with a Grade 12 (Matric) or FET certificate, who must also have an APS score of at least 30. Additionally, applicants must have permission, as indicated on their Grade 12 certificate, to register for a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree.
Additional admission requirements include providing proof of your completed Hepatitis B and COVID-19 vaccination schedule, along with the relevant SANC forms. You will also need to submit proof of payment to both SANC and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), as well as evidence of indemnity coverage through a professional organization or union.
Admission Requirements For Masters of Nursing:
Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant Bachelor of Nursing degree at NQF level 8, or a BTech degree, or an equivalent qualification in nursing, with a minimum aggregate of 60%.
- A pass in Research Methodology is required.
- Applicants with qualifications from outside South Africa must submit their results/qualifications to the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) for evaluation and equivalence to a South African qualification at NQF level 8.
- International students from non-English-speaking countries must provide proof of English proficiency.
Additional Requirements:
- Students must complete their research proposal within the first six months after registration and submit it for approval to the relevant research and ethics committees in the Faculty of Health and Wellness Sciences.
- Students are required to register on the HDC digital platform and attend scheduled meetings and research colloquiums on Wednesday afternoons.
- Students entering from legacy qualifications may be required to complete a research workshop.
