The 2026-2027 application is done online on the official website of Cape Peninsula University of Technology during the application period. The application portal for the 2026-2027 academic year will be open from May to September 2025. However, a limited number of programmes have had their application deadlines extended to 13 January 2025, while certain programmes are available exclusively to returning CPUT students from 7 to 10 January 2025. Additionally, the application deadline for Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Postgraduate Studies remains open until 14 March 2025.

CPUT Online Application Fee 2026-2027
Prospective students applying online are not required to pay an application fee. However, for manual applications, a fee of R100 is applicable, and late manual applications will incur a fee of R150.
Admission Requirements for CPUT 2026-2027
Applicants must meet specific academic qualifications, typically including a Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification. For those following the Cambridge system, the following criteria apply:
- A minimum of five subjects passed at the IGCSE and HIGCSE levels, with at least two subjects at the HIGCSE level.
- A pass in the language of instruction at CPUT (English or Afrikaans).
- Required grades: IGCSE – A, B, or C; HIGCSE – 1, 2, or 3.
Other senior school qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Admission Requirements for International Applicants
- Undergraduate Applications: International applicants must qualify for a Matriculation Exemption to enrol in degree programmes at South African universities.
- Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Applications: A SAQA certificate is required for all first-year undergraduate programmes, including Higher Certificates and Diplomas.
Required Documents To Apply Online At CPUT 2026-2027
Certified copies of the following documents are required to apply online art Cape Peninsula University of Technology;
South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
- Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.
International Applicants
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
Passport. - School-Leaving Certificate (with English translation if not in English).
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation.
- Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
- Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation.
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation.
- English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator.
- International Nursing Applicants: Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA, proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), and a valid study permit.
- Additional Documents: These are listed under the “Additional Admission Requirements” section for your program.
NB:
- Ensure that all uploaded documents are less than 2 MB in size, and JPEG, PDF, TIFF or GIF format.
- All documentation must be certified (certification may not be older than 3 months)
