Lucky for you, the online application portal for the 2026-2027 academic year has been opened for undergraduate applicants.
Prospective students must visit the official website to complete the online application form and upload supporting documents to apply for the 2026-2027 academic year. The online application form is available on the universities official website from May 2025 through September 2025. There are a few programs where the application deadline has been extended to 13 January 2025. Additionally, certain programs are available only to returning CPUT students, with the application period open from Tuesday, 7 January 2025, to Friday, 10 January 2025. Prospective students are urged to submit their application early before the closing date.

2026-2027 CPUT Undergraduate Application Date
The application period for undergraduate programs typically runs from May to September each year, with some programs closing as early as July. For full research postgraduate applications, the deadline usually extends until March of the following year.
However, there are a few programs where the application deadline has been extended to 13 January 2025. Additionally, certain programs are available only to returning CPUT students, with the application period open from Tuesday, 7 January 2025, to Friday, 10 January 2025. Prospective students are urged to submit their applications on time before the closing date as late applications may incur extra costs.

Application Fee to Apply At CPUT 2026-2027
Prospective students using the online application process are not required to pay an application fee. For manual applications, applicants are required of an amount of R100 and an amount of R150 for late applications. Applicants can make payment of the application fee to the account provided below;

Required Documents To Apply At CPUT 2026-2027
Certified copies of the following documents are required to complete the online application process for the 2026 academic year;
South African Applicants:
- A certified copy of the first page of your Identity Document or Birth Certificate.
- A certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. If you are currently in Grade 12, please submit your marks obtained in Grade 11.
- Certified copies of the original Academic record and Certificate of Conduct, or certified copies of other certificates/ diplomas/ degrees you obtained previously from any other higher education institution.
International Applicants
- Permanent Residency Applicants: Passport and proof of Permanent Residency or South African ID.
- Refugee/Asylum Seekers: Temporary permit or formal recognition of refugee status in South Africa.
Passport. - School-Leaving Certificate (with English translation if not in English).
- Congo-Brazzaville Applicants: Liste des Admis au Bac and an English translation.
- Democratic Republic of Congo Applicants: Sixth-year Bulletin: Diplom D’Etat, journal, transcripts, or embassy confirmation of results.
- Angolan Applicants: Portuguese results and an English translation.
- Applicants from Gabon, Cameroon, Bangladesh, and Burundi: French results with an English translation.
- English Translations: Must be stamped by a sworn translator.
- International Nursing Applicants: Approval of nursing qualifications from SAQA, and proof of temporary registration with SANC (for two years), plus a valid study permit.
- Additional Documents: As listed under the “Additional Admission Requirements” section for your program.
NB: Ensure that all uploaded documents are less than 2 MB in size, and in JPEG, PDF, TIFF or GIF format.
