Who is Qualified For Nsafs?
NSFAS is a bursary program supported by the Department of Higher Education and Training, designed to assist students who don’t have the financial means to pay for their studies and cannot access bank loans, study loans, or other bursaries. You can apply online, and applications are open for a limited time at the end of each year. You may qualify for an NSFAS bursary if you are a South African citizen planning to study at a public university or TVET college and meet the following conditions:
- If you receive any kind of grant from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), you are automatically qualified for NSFAS funding.
- If your family’s total earnings is R350,000 or less per year, you can also qualify for funding. This includes your parent’s or guardians’ income, or the income of anyone you depend on for support.
Is Nsfas Funding CPUT For 2026-2027?
Yes, CPUT is funded by Nsfas for the 2026-2027 academic year. Fresh students who are qualified for NSFAS funding should apply as soon as possible after being accepted and registered at CPUT. Applications are submitted directly to CPUT’s Financial Aid office. Students must have the needed documents.
